B. Health Sc. (TCM)
Registered Chinese medicine practitioner
Madeleine has a strong appreciation for both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine. After completing her Bachelor of Health Science this appreciation inspired her to complete a six-week program at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing. It was here she observed the integration of the two medical approaches in various fields including gynecology, diabetes, oncology, dermatology and many more. In these particular wards both Western medicine and Chinese medicine are utilized to manage symptoms of various diseases to improve the overall quality of life. It is this integration of ideas alongside the desire to optimize the wellbeing of patients that motivates Madeleine which is incorporated into her treatments.
Additionally she is currently undertaking her postgraduate studies in Science Research at the University of Technology Sydney where she is looking at the pharmacological properties of herbal medicine for conditions such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and fatty liver disease.
Using acupuncture, moxibustion, herbal medicine and various manual techniques, Madeleine can treat a range of conditions from musculoskeletal problems to emotional issues such as anxiety. She, however, has a particular passion for women’s health, digestive disorders, dermatological problems and autoimmune diseases.
