Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Rebecca's health practice integrates the foundations of eastern medicine within a broad scope of western medicine. In her practice, she treats people of all ages and conditions... her youngest patient was a 9 month old baby who had digestive upsets unable to gain weight and the eldest a 97 year old with shoulder pain unable to go for their everyday swim - what an inspiration!
Her education in eastern medicine began over 15 years ago in Lohan qigong at which time she also learnt acupressure, tuina, gua sha, cupping and moxibustion. These experiences lead her to further study a bachelor degree in Health Science (Traditional Chinese Medicine) at the University of Technology, Sydney and continuing professional studies with masters in Australia, China and Japan.
Consultations integrate western scientific testing/ reports and traditional eastern examination (interview, tongue, pulse and abdominal/meridian palpation) to understand the scope of the conditions and underlying causes. Following an assessment and determination of a persons constitution, she sets out the most suitable treatment approach. Treatments typically use classical Chinese and Japanese acupuncture and where required if suitable also moxibustion, shonishin. Herbal medicine prescription may also be recommended for daily supplementation to rejuvenate the whole body.
For a complementary lifestyle approach she also provides guidance in Lohan qigong techniques (breathing, movement and meditation), nutrition, diet and exercise... so every body can reach their optimal well-being!
